Inaugural Session & Lecture

The PG Diploma course in Digital Humanities and Cultural Informatics
will be formally inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of Jadavpur University on
Monday, 29 July, 2013 at 10:45 am
in the Vivekananda Hall, Subarna Jayanti Bhawan.

This will be followed by a lecture entitled
Why Digital Humanities?
by Professor Sukanta Chaudhuri
Professor Emeritus, Jadavpur University.

Entrance Test

The entrance test for the DHCI course will be held on Wednesday, 17 July 2013 at 11 am.

The test will be conducted at SCTR premises in the Energy Studies Building (near University Gate No. 2) on the first floor, adjacent to the University Engineer’s Office.

The test (including a short interview) will last approximately two hours and check for basic typing skills in a choice of language (Bengali, Hindi, English), and whether the candidate can make arguments coherently. The examination will not be a test of technical knowledge.

Where the candidate wishes to type in an Indic language, the SCTR will provide a qwerty keyboard layout and softwares that operate on principles of roman transcription.

Please note that the candidate must carry a valid photo-ID card to the examination.
